Until last week, I hadn’t taken a proper Spring Break since university (I’m not sure that the phrase has even crossed my mind in years). The addition of school holidays back into the rhythm of my life as of late has been a nice reminder to seize seasonally-specific pleasures, so my family and I booked a last-minute trip to Charleston, South Carolina. I’ll list a few of the best things we did at the end of this newsletter for those who are interested!

I remain kind of dispassionate about spring (I just want summer), but I must say that going somewhere sunny and palm tree-studded was a welcome change from endless days of freezing rain at home. Longtime readers of this newsletter will know that I like to have a theme when packing for a trip, but this time I chose instead to test-drive some warm weather outfit recipes that I’ve had in the nascent/Notes app stage for a little while now. That kind of feels like the right theme for any Spring Break, doesn’t it? Trying new things? Formerly that meant Pacha Barcelona (yikes), now it’s (less regrettably) a neon windbreaker.
